Novice and seasoned filmmakers alike will gather, pick up to 5 stories and set out to make them into short films all in a single weekend.

With generous support from Nikon Camera and the Memphis and Shelby County Film and Television Commission, Fuel Film will provide the space, the equipment and the fuel for participants to turn their story ideas into short films.

Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their story ideas and then everyone will choose up to 5 movies they wish to make.

Attendees will be required to sign up for either Pre-Production, Production, Post Production or Marketing Teams.  Local professionals will join non-filmmakers on each team in the areas of scriptwriting, cinematography, audio production, music composition, editing and graphics, while marketing teams work on promotion.

48 Hour Launch weekends are powerful networking events that combine community spirit, local expertise and a truly rare experience in a single weekend.

Food, drink, space and equipment will be provided.  Some will work through the entire weekend, others will participate on and off throughout the weekend.

FAQ's:

Q: Do I have to bring a movie idea and, if so, do I need a script.

A: Anyone can pitch an idea, not everyone will.  Participants will vote on the five short movies (5 min or less)  that will get made. We can't predict how participants will vote, but those ideas that already have a written script, should have a better chance of winning.
